The Island of Lanzarote and it's resorts

You can enjoy Lanzarote holidays all year round – thanks to the fact that this unique Spanish owned island is located just 80 miles off the West African coast of Morocco. On the same line of latitude as parts of Mexico, Florida and the Bahamas. Creating a wonderful year round climate which delivers temperatures in the mid 20´s C even in the depths of winter.
Lanzarote is just a four hour flight away from the UK and Eire and is the closest winter sun destination to both of these countries. Making it the obvious choice for anyone planning to take part in a sports and activity winter break, or sun filled summer holiday.

PUERTO DEL CARMEN

Which is the oldest and the largest resort on Lanzarote. Boasting excellent beaches and lots of bars, shops and restaurants to explore. Puerto del Carmen is also very centrally located, only 10-15 minutes drive from the airport. We organise most of our team tours, sports events and activity holidays in this area. It has a wide selection of accommodation, most of which is just a short walk away from the main beach-side coastal avenue where most of the bars, restaurants, night-clubs, shops and cafes can be found.

COSTA TEGUISE

Is a smaller laid-back holiday resort, and appeals to those who aren't looking for such a busy night-life. It has a fine selection of bars and restaurants, however, and a clean safe sandy beach area. It is close to the older, more established golf course, found just 5 minutes drive away from the centre, and there are water-sports options available too.

PLAYA BLANCA

Has grown from a small southern beach side village and port over the last decade, to a good sized holiday resort, and has been seen as a good competitor to the main resort of Puerto Del Carmen. Although the sports facilities have not developed yet, the new marina, excellent sandy beaches and growing selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation options make this resort a possible future venue for some of our activity programmes.

Who are Sport events and touring team organisers?

Both Directors of Operations for S.E.T.T.O. in Lanzarote, Jack Talbot and Mike Wheeler are UK trained Physical Education teachers, whoboth studied at Greenwich University in London. Over the last 10 years they ran the PE department at the largest British School in Lanzarote. Their involvement with sports and activities around the island developed quickly, and they have set-up sports events and leagues, coached and organized male and female participants in a wide variety of sports such as football, athletics, tennis, cricket, golf, water-sports etc.

Jack, an Ironman himself, has also been involved in training and children for the Ironman event on the island, as well as assisting in the organization of the event. Find out more...
