Nowhere else is the incredible power of nature to create or destroy more apparent than on Lanzarote. Its dramatic scenery, beautiful villages and dramatic volcanic landscape, is probably one of the toughest Ironman races in the world.
S.E.T.T.O.'S. director Jack Talbot is an Ironman, and since competing several years ago, he has been involved in organising the tournament, using his expertise in commentating on the radio, and has trained many young triathletes for the Ironkids event held on the day before the adult competition. Several trophies have been won by his participating junior triathletes over the past years If you are interested in any aspects of this event, just contact Jack through our website - especially for:

  • Information about the event, including becoming an official/helper.
  • Adult participants (there is a long waiting-list).
  • Participants for the Iron kids (ages 5-18 years) with no waiting list!
  • Teams, school groups who want to enter the ironkids - are very welcome!

Who are Sport events and touring team organisers?

Both Directors of Operations for S.E.T.T.O. in Lanzarote, Jack Talbot and Mike Wheeler are UK trained Physical Education teachers, whoboth studied at Greenwich University in London. Over the last 10 years they ran the PE department at the largest British School in Lanzarote. Their involvement with sports and activities around the island developed quickly, and they have set-up sports events and leagues, coached and organized male and female participants in a wide variety of sports such as football, athletics, tennis, cricket, golf, water-sports etc.

Jack, an Ironman himself, has also been involved in training and children for the Ironman event on the island, as well as assisting in the organization of the event. Find out more...

19th May - Lanzarote Ironman 2012 - Not organsed by us but we are involved in some aspects of the event and can help greatly if anyone is interested.

29th Jun-1st Jul - Women's Futsal Tournament - Open age, indoor 5 a side.

6th-8th July - Pto del Carmen's Verteran's Football Tournament - Eleven a side football for over 35's.

13th-15th July - La Tiñosa Cup - Senior/Junior 7's Football Tournament - Seven a side football played on half a pitch. We are looking at open age as well as juniors U/14, U/12, U/10.

23rd-25th Aug - La Tiñosa Beach Football Tournament - 5 v 5 on the big beach in Pto del Carmen. We normally get over 20 teams from local bars, workers and holiday makers.
